Indexes critical material in journal articles and monographs on literature, language, linguistics, and folklore with options for articles in other languages.

 

Music Index Online, (EBSCO)

Contains over 800 music periodicals from over 40 countries, with English translations from 22 languages. Classical and popular world of music organized by Subject and Geographic headings.

 

Project Muse

Full-text journal collection from Johns Hopkins University Press. SSC subscribes to the Standard Collection.

These databases offer a general resource and should be combined with subject specific databases when doing research. 

 

Academic Search Premier (EBSCOhost)

Provides abstracts and indexing for over 3,200 scholarly journals covering the social sciences, humanities, education and more. Also offers full text for over 2,300 journals with many dating back to 1990. Includes coverage of over 1,700 peer-reviewed journals.

 

 

Gale/InfoTrac

Database system that provides access to many full-text databases

 

 

Lexis-Nexis

This database system includes the full-text of thousands of journals and newspapers. Special collections include business, congressional, environmental, legal, medical, and statistical information. (note: within LexisNexis Academic are links to LexisNexis Statistical, LexisNexis Environmental, and LexisNexis Congressional)

 

 

Proquest

General subject, full-text database that indexes reference books, magazines, radio/television transcripts, maps, newspapers, and pictures.
